Instagram Influencer "Fashion"

It's not really fashion. This is what happens when you let the internet dress you. This is what happens when you fall in line with the masses and/or are incapable of developing your own sense of style. Welcome to Instagram Fashion, or what I like to call "Oversized flannels, long tee shirts, ripped denim and any overhyped sneakers."

If it sounds like I'm overly salty, it's because I am. Nothing about this "streetwear style" is original. Streetwear and fashion as a medium  is all about expressing yourself. This Instagram style isn't about expressing yourself. It's about copying what everyone else is wearing.

Oh look at that. Oversized flannels, long shirts, light wash jeans and some goddamn SNEAKERS or chelsea boots. This is blindly following trends at its finest. The funny thing is, these are all instagram style "influencers", and they directly curate the styles of the people who follow them. People look to them for inspiration, meaning there's hordes of people dressing like this. Walk in to any Pacsun and you'll see this exact style laid out right in the front of the store. And sure, trends come and go, and these "influencers" will jump right on the next wagon, with their hordes of followers throwing out their long tees and Chelsea boots.

I'm not above these people, and I respect their hustle. I'm just tired of their clone outfits. Sue me.
